¿Cómo puedo establecer el Notepad++ como editor por defecto?

Quiero establecer el Bloc de notas++ como editor por defecto. Intenté establecerlo haciendo clic con el botón derecho del ratón en un archivo y luego en Abrir con. Pero no he visto Notepad++ en la lista resultante (incluso después de hacer clic en Elegir otros programas).

Cuando intento redirigir al Notepad++ a través de la opción Examinar el archivo notepad++.exe no hace nada. (No lo reconoce de alguna manera)

  1. Inicie Notepad++ con privilegios elevados.

  2. En Notepad++, vaya a Configuración , Preferencias…

  3. Vaya a la pestaña Asociación de archivos.

  4. Selecciona fortran,TeX,SQL y luego .sql y añádelo a las extensiones registradas:

Inicie el Notepad++ como administrador, haciendo clic con el botón derecho del ratón sobre su icono y seleccionando la acción correspondiente:

En Settings > Preferences..., puede asociar las extensiones que desee con el Notepad++, utilizando este diálogo:

En este caso, haciendo clic en la flecha roja se asociarían todos los .txt con el Notepad++.

Puedes modificar el registro. De este sitio web , encontré una modificación del regedit bastante completa que me funciona bien y realmente cambia el programa “Editar” por defecto del botón derecho.

Las porciones hexadecimales son sólo la misma cadena de ruta al Notepad++, no sé por qué se pusieron en hexadecimal, pero es inofensivo. De nuevo, yo no he creado este código.

  1. Copia el siguiente texto y pégalo en un nuevo .txt y guárdalo
  2. Cámbiale el nombre a filename.reg.
  3. Y luego haz doble clic en él y acepta las ventanas emergentes que te advierten sobre la modificación del registro.

Como alternativa, también puedes sustituir notepad.exe por notepad++.exe (o notepad2.exe u otro editor).

La ruta más directa que he encontrado es decirle a Windows que use Notepad++ (o Notepad2 o…) en lugar del Notepad.exe por defecto del sistema, aprovechando Image File Execution. Es más seguro (¡y más fácil!) que reemplazar los archivos del sistema o jugar con múltiples entradas del registro.
